I get it but I am fussy and with my car being so new it won't begin to satisfy me if the standard is "looks decent". But that's me!

New cars are available with the body painted in every conceivable shade of metallic grey and silver. I'll bet you a nickel that one of them comes close enough to work as a touch-up color. The trick is finding it without having to remove your wheel and walk it into a store. May be a bit of trial and error here; maybe find a color card in a paint store that comes close to your wheel, then walk the card into an auto parts store?

There are tons of shops that can repair curb rash or scuffed wheels but keep in mind the OEM finish is paint and more shops will powder coat your wheel to a very similar color. It happened to me with the 19' F sport wheels and they never had that shine like OEM again.

While the special paint thing might be true, I don't believe that a wheel repair specialist can't fix it. I've seen some pretty hard to match colors come out like new. For instance a Dodge SRT wheel that is Hyper black is a Very hard color to fix and they did one that was perfect! Silver would be a piece of cake compared to Hyper black.

This is Hyper black.................

My suggestion is to call the dealership that you bought your Lexus from and ask them about the person that they use. We had a BMW that had a rim curb rash on it and I called the dealer and they pointed me to the company that came to the dealership to fix the wheels. I got lucky because the next day, they were at the local Audi dealership when I called them. I drove the car there, they took the wheel off in the dealership's lot and fix it to look like new for $100. I'm cheap but that was money well spent to have a wheel that you couldn't tell from the others.

Did you have to have the tire pressure sensor(s) recalibrated?

No Sir. They didn't mess with the TPMS sensors. They broke the bead and then ground and smoothed it with some scotch brite looking pads on grinders and then painted it. He put the tire back on and that was it. It took maybe an hour or so and they did it in the dealer's parking lot. He had a Really nice trailer setup that had a tire machine for breaking down the wheel/tires and an air compressor and a generator.

It was Definitely a well oiled machine and it worked well because it was a Nice day out and I just waited there and soaked up some Vitamin D in the sunshine.
