Here's someone else that had the issue caused by S Flow. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...eat-vents.html

I did have people in the back seat, which is how I discovered the problem. But I had the rear seat detection turned off so the seat belt ding wouldn't sound when I put a package or the like in the rear seats, which must of affected the S Flow function as well. I turned the S Flow off and all works as expected. Thank you all for your help.

It's a little confusing how they did this but read about the S-FLOW mode section in your manual. If it is on auto the only way air will come out of rear vents is if the rear door is opened and closed and also if it detects a rear passenger and disables s-flow. If on manual no air will come out back even if passenger there. If disabled it acts like the auto with above detections for air to come out.

I didn't know any of this until this thread. I went online and found a further explanation.
"The Lexus S-Flow System uses sensors to detect if the front passenger seat is occupied and if it isn't, the system shuts the vents so to efficiently deliver air only to the driver and not the unoccupied seat. The system does the same for the back seats when the S-Flow System is on."

Cool beans. I have set this feature on long ago and forgot about it. It is working well so far. It is a nice feature indeed as I am vent hog so now with S-flow I don't have to play around with vents to direct all the air toward me when no one else is in the car. Another win for going with a ES300h!
