I agree between 60K and 90K. If you exceed 100K w/o doing it then just leave it for life. Not sure but I think it’s also recommended to leave a small amount of the original fluid when adding the new replacement fluid.

I went in last weekend for 30K service at North Miami Lexus. I would advise to not select the 30k service. It's $611 with $240 going to parts and the rest is just labor and tax. The only things they really did was balance and rotate my tires, change the oil and oil filter, cabin air filter, and engine filter but not even that because I have an intake. They had the car for about an hour and a half so they which makes me question if they really even checked half of the stuff in the 30k list posted on the forum. Lexus should really change there maintenance prices.

What are the risks of a warranty denial if something adverse occurs with respect to one or more of the items on the 30k “list” which isn’t addressed at the request of the owner?

And rebalancing tires isn't necessary unless a tire was replaced or fixed due to a flat... Surprised they didn't offer and want to charge you for nitrogen filled tires...
This is why people call them stealerships...

You sure they didn't swap out the brake fluid? Thay are supposed to per the maintenance booklet.

Brake fluid usually has a useful life of 3 years. My 30K service is coming up soon and I agree with others that the charge for this is excessive at Lexus since most of what they do is inspections. I get my tires rotated for free at Americas tire so it will just be an oil change for me and Brake Fluid swap. Transmission fluid swap seems like a waste of money at 30K unless you meet the criteria of possibly towing and driving in harsh environments. I'll have my transmission fluid changed at 50K-60K.

How many people here religiously change their brake fluid every 3 years?

On sports cars, i did. but for cars like these.. dont care all that much. suppose at 5 years i'd pay the dealer to do a brake fluid bleed. due to needing the software to properly jiggle out the bubbles from the abs block.

I have it changed when the pads/rotors need to be replaced. NEVER at the intervals they suggest and guess what - I've never had a brake line rust and leak. Amazing. Then again, I don't keep cars long enough for that to ever occur.

I'll get flamed for this but the boss's Honda is 9 this month and haven't changed brake fluid yet... 30k miles. Due to this thread I went out and checked the level. Looked OK to me...
Honda wanted $420. to replace it...
