Why is Toyota's sales and marketing the department the last to hear about next year's changes? LOL it's been known for many months in other parts of the world... You can clearly see the new centre console.

This is one of my favourite lines from the manual:
Starting the hybrid system in an extremely cold environment (for vehi- cles sold in except Canada)When the hybrid battery (traction battery) is extremely cold (below approximately - 22°F [-30°C]) under the influence of the outside temperature, it may not be possible to start the hybrid system. In this case, try to start the hybrid system again after the tem- perature of the hybrid battery increases due to the outside temperature increase etc.
I have a ESh in Canada and we get nearly to -40 at times, fortunately we don't have the lithium ion battery because it can't handle the cold.

Can you drive an ESh without the "hybrid system" running? Or are you SOL until the outside air temperature is warm enough to allow the hybrid system to start? That owner's manual isn't very clear with its wording.

Put it in sports mode and it shouldn't go into hybrid mode.

he's asking if you can start the car i.e., drive it if the car had not started.

the answer is no. unless the "Ready" symbol is displayed on the dash, you aren't going anywhere.
