ES to lose its 6-cylinder engine in 2024?
Howdy all. I'm new to these forms and not yet a Lexus owner. I've been looking at an ES350 and saw on a YouTube video that Lexus is going to do away with the 6-cylinder car in 2024, replacing it with a 4-cylinder turbo, as so many are doing these days.
One of the biggest appeals of the ES is the six; I have a 4-cylinder turbo now and while I have not had any problems with it, I don't want another one.
Does anyone know if this claim is true? I guess that would put a real premium on the 2023s if it were.
Thanks.

I think that the article is BS anyway...

But I bet the next gen ES will not be V6.

Sadly trends in the industry clearly indicate that, like the RX, the redesigned ES will no longer be offered with a V6. It’s not consumer preference but Toyota, like other manufacturers, have to work with the emission and mileage rules that have brought us to this.

Highly doubtful the next gen ES will have a V6. Lexus already made this switch with the RX, their most popular model, and I'm sure the rest of the lineup will see the same engines.

I love the powerful hybrid powertrain in my ES. On the highways, doing pulls from highway speed, flawless and almost whisper quiet and quite strong and effortless. it feels great. did a couple today and the back just sinks down. no shifting, delaying, or thinking. just VRUUUUMPH. boy kicks.
So I imagine the next gen hybrid systems will be even better. can't wait.
Perhaps we'll get:
ES350h
ES450h or ES500h plug in (for when you prioritize VRUUUUMPH over outright MPGs)
Granddad's V6 is gone. Sorry. =(
I'd still take the MPGs.
