Default Welp, I've got a console rattle.

Based on what some of you have said before, I suspect that someone will find this noise familiar.

Seems like a hard rattle indicating something loose, rather than a creak or a rub.

Take it to dealer or

Strip down (the car part, not you) and investigate and employ a fix.

I don't like ppl touching my stuff and i like tinkering so I'd go for option 2 myself.

This also seems unique to the 22+ radio controls as i've taken a 21 radio apart before and didn't really identify anything inside it that could make that noise. i don't know what the 22 unit looks like when removed/taken apart.

My '22 from 'Murica doesn't do that. Be sure a small coin or something hasn't gotten lodged into any little cracks or areas. Where exactly do you think it's coming from? I can't say from the video.

if i'm not mistaken, it's a panasonic part made in japan (if it's like my 21 part). so if it's an issue with the part design or part assembly, rather than the car assembly, then japan strikes again.

we need to first verify what the exact cause of the noise is before we start attributing the failure to any group of people or countries.

I can't clearly tell from the driver's seat, either. Maybe, maybe the forward part of the console. Maybe even low under the center of the dash.

I have no reason to believe the '22 Levinson is any different from the '21, though.

I am just having a bit of fun. However there are reasons why Lexus is moving ES back to Japan. I am sure Kentucky ones are still better than most domestic brands.

First I would remove completely both knee padded pieces and drive it. Also you can take the camera and put it close to all parts and in that way you can hear it exactly where the rattle is coming from.

Perhaps use some of that sugru stuff to plug the noise

Sounds more like a clicking sound than a rattle. Is it exacerbated only by the movement of the car?

Yes, it's exacerbated by chassis flex over bumps and by turning the steering wheel.

Sometimes it sounds like a click. Sometimes it sounds like a creaking noise.

Default The creaking sound is coming from the driver side knee pad

Remove the driver side knee pad and it’ll eliminate the creaking. The clips, although insulated from factory need more felt tape insulation to ensure it’s not rubbing against the plastic when accelerating and decelerating. Try removing the passenger side knee pad, if removing driver side knee pad doesn’t work

I have buzzing sound around the windshield vent/behind the screen.
I can hear it on very rough pavement or when the ICE runs. Very annoying.

That came from me. =) I'm the original and the first (and second LOL) to discover that on both my ESes! That's when I mistakenly insulated the entire factory hvac and headunit and disassembled them only to find out the answer was right in front of me in the knee pads and took 5 min to do.

Lets get this tackled. Though dash stuff is annoying cause removing the dash is a pretty much hard no for even the hardcore DIYers especially on a new car. When you say screen, you mean the speaker grill in the center of the dash?
Maybe remove it completely then run the ICE and see if you hear it. perhaps the wire loom connecting the light sensor/speaker too.

Also for anyone else the leather/vinyl top thing (whatever it's made of) above the gauge cluster is a source for rattling too. i solved that one by adding some foam tape.
