You don't... Unless there's an attachment that I don't know about ...

Update: I found this thread from a CL member who did a mod to close from inside the car.

I do. But my previous Lexus was a 2005 430 LS with very dependable navigation. Hard to believe it has regressed over the past 16 years.

I found a navigation program from Tom Tom that's better than Waze IMO. AMIGO...

Button on the dash will close the trunk. My 2018 would not do this.

Button on my 2021 ES 350 dash will open trunk but not close it. No way to close trunk from the inside on my car.

Mine has power trunk option w kick opener, too. Inside button opens but doesn’t close. No big deal.

This thread was started in the hopes of eliciting more balanced responses that included topics of interest and not just complaints. Realistically as always happens in the discovery phase of learning about our cars, there will inevitably be complaints as well. So far I think some very good points of interest have been made. Keep it going I say.

I am disappointed with the Lexus egg camera. They still haven't improve it in the new models such as the NX:

My 2019 Ultra Lux with power trunk option and kick feature cannot close the trunk by fob or pressing trunk button inside the car...

I stand corrected. It is not closing with the button on the dash. I thought I had used it at least once. Sorry.

Perhaps you had an RX/NX loaner from the dealer...they will close the hatch from the fob or dash button.

G1H1 and all, be sure that the Navigation is set to allow for freeways and tollways (if you have a transponder).
The factory default is to have the setting "Avoid Tollways?" set as "Yes". You can only access the settings when
you have an actual Point B route active (whether that route includes a tollway or not). The route customizing icon
is the fourth one down below the compass/search/info icons on the left side, solid and dotted routes form a square.
Once you open this icon choose "Preferences" and change the Tollway to "No" don't want to avoid tolls.
