Cars radar is inside the Lexus Emblem. If the height of the vehicle in front is above (Higher) than the emblem then the radar cruise will not see the car. Also, your airbag sensors are triggered if there is damage to metal bumper reinforcement under bumper skin. If the vehicle ahead was high and only touched the hood or top half of grill the airbags will not trigger.

This is not a Toyota thing. It is with every car manufacturer.

Incompatibility of the big trucks, transport trucks and cars on the road and lack of proper regulation to mandate a universal bumper height for ALL Vehicles.

Don;t know if it's been mentioned but I love the fact I do not have to carry owner's manual. It is always available on info screen. Hard to find but really nice.

Just save it on Google Drive and will never be hard to find.

I've used it a few times myself and appreciate having images to go along with the written information.

While parked the other night I noticed that sometimes the Start/Stop button slow blinks and sometimes it fast blinks while not running. I forget when it does so as I do have a life and cannot retain superfluous information. However, it is elegant and pretty friggin cool!
(And if this forum allowed MP4s to be posted, then you could watch the two videos I shot of it...perhaps I don't have a life!)

Just realized I can adjust the length at which the rear seat pulls back upon exiting/shutting off the car. This sounds so stupid, but I always felt like I had to wait forever for it to finish it's journey before getting out of the car. First worlds problems, for sure.

I'd like to know how as well. With the seat so far back I feel like I'm crawling out of a hole!

Edit: I looked it up in the owners manual. For my 2023, it was under settings->vehicle customization->entry and exit. The hybrid system had to be engaged (on) before vehicle settings were available..

If you want to see a video demonstrating how to change the driver's "Easy Exit" settings, see Northside Lexus's Melissa O'Connell's "How to Customize Other Vehicle Settings in Your Lexus - Lexus Personalized Settings Part 4" video starting at the 5:30 time mark for ES specific directions:

The menu chain to follow (on the touch pad/touch screen operated multimedia screen] to reach the screen at the starting 5:30 time mark is Setup [the gear icon]->Vehicle->Vehicle Customization->Other Vehicle Settings.

I just found this out yesterday cleaning the seats. The headrests move forward and lock?! Adjusted it to a point where I would find it comfortable to drive with and it makes the car even more comfortable than it already is. 7 months of ownership, what a great discovery.
