Hello, I have a few questions for anyone who has the Carista OBD2 device.
1. Have you been able to save money by using it?
2. Is the subscription worth it?
3. Does it really diagnose like a dealer's device or at least close to?
4. What's the coolest thing you can customize using it?

1. If you get check engine lights very often, or if you want to try all the custom settings then yes, you will save money;
2. Personally I don't know the price;
3. No, but you can get a lotta data;
4. Lights, locking, climate...

1. It saves you from getting a diagnostic report from the dealership, so that's over $100 saved right there already.
2. Mostly worth it to enable some features and if you DIY maintenance. It's only $10/mo if you decide to stay with the subscription. I spent the $10 to enable some of the features, its worth it and a small price to pay and then canceled my sub after. I also used it to enable some features in our older 2013 GS350. Support developers!
3. Not sure how extensive of a diagnostic report it brings up. I borrowed my buddy's Carista to enable some of the features that are disabled from the factory.
4. Only enabling or disabling features as far as I know.

I used mine on both my 2021 ESes in year 2021. I would recommend it to anyone in 2019 if it existed!
The subscription is well worth it. in fact i did it twice.
coolest thing programmed is open windows with remote. (My 2002 bmw had this with i enabled using a hex editor back in the early 2000s)
most useful thing is instead of 3 blinks with blinker stalk tap, i use 7 blinks. i like to use classy/gentlemanly lane changes.
oh i also disabled anc for my sub

Was bored so here are all the options for my 2019 ES 350 Ultra Luxury:

The biggest thing for me are disabling the seatbelt alarms since I always wear my seatbelt regardless, I don't have kids, and I sometimes have things sitting in the seat and I don't feel like having to buckle them just to not have an alarm scream at me. Same with @E46CT , I like my turn signal to be 7 clicks as I as well do "classy/gentlemanly" lane changes. But there are also some other nice QOL features as well.

Can't wait to do the 7 blinks! I ordered the device on Sunday.
Now I can't believe it allows you to disable ANC I wish I knew that before. I previously had issues with that when hooking up my subs in the trunk getting signal from the OEM sub caused major distortion when accelerating but I was able to turn it off by unplugging the tiny microphone that's in the headliner.

Interesting, just scourged their website for a bit, turns out there's a handful of features I missed out on since I didn't use the beta version. Guess I'll have to try that out sometime lol

Is that what you're referring to? Bit odd since I don't remember that happening to me. But yeah, I'd say messaging them is a safe bet.

Hell, I didn't even know our cars had active noise cancellation. CT, did you say earlier it's a limited implementation?
