My 6 month ownership update

I’ve been currently driving my 2001 Mustang GT since late spring. I bought the Mustang brand new in August 2001 with only 5 miles on it. Today the odometer just turned to 45,000 miles. I drive the Mustang only during the late spring, summertime and fall and store it just before the first snowfall. It’s never been driven in the snow or salt. The undercarriage and the body is mint and like brand new. There’s not even a speck of rust on it. I will store my 2001 Mustang GT soon either later during this month or in December just before we get the first snowfall and salt on the ground up here. Then I will start driving my 22 Lexus ES350 UL. I will get the oil and oil filter replaced in the beginning of next month on the Lexus when it becomes 6 months old. I purchased the ES350 UL to drive 65% of the time during the winter and spring while the Mustang is stored in my open carport garage. I try to keep the mileage low on both the Lexus and the Mustang. We have our brand new 2022 Toyota Avalon Limited that we drive and use all year round as the primary vehicle. We’ve had the Avalon for 6 months now and it just turned 6,000 miles.

2014 club with 6 speed manual. I have it for 3 years now and I still love it. Unfortunately I had to drop her off for repair yet again. the car is so small and low so people have trouble seeing it. It is almost as bad as riding a motorcycle. A high school kid backed into me because he didn't see me in his rear view mirror. 6 months prior a college girl reared end me.

I’ve had my ES 4 months now, and have 5200 miles on her. No problems at all, and I am really starting to like this car. Smooth, comfortable, plus I get 30mpg out her. I plan to put 250,000 miles on her at least.

It will be fascinating to look back, fifteen or twenty years from now, when your car hits 250,000 miles, to see what changes there will have been in cars. My guess is the traditional, tried and true construct of your car and mine will no longer be an option but will still prove to be reliable and justifiable---maybe something like the original flip phones or fax machines of 15-20 years ago would be today. I'm confident your car and my 2021 ES 350, if conscientiously maintained and responsibly driven, will still be around! Hope we are, too!
