I would rather see Toyota/Lexus deliver a quality product rather than the junk being released by Tesla. I’ve talked to countless Tesla owners who love the engineering aspect but overall quality is in the toilet. I’ve ridden in the models S and 3..both sound like you’re in a wind tunnel. The thing about people is loving the bright shiny object despite the issues.

I would much rather hear concerns about the delay of EV for Lexus rather than deliver a poor product, Also, please read the pushback from oil entities, it’s more to this story.

I have doubts.

The report link I posted goes in an entirely different direction discussing how Toyota is about to change everything from their current EV's as previously announced/planned. I know it's 11 minutes long, but it basically says (based on my viewing) everything Toyota is doing now regarding EV's propulsion systems is going to change.

i was telling my friend the other day Toyota is way way way behind on EV tech. non-optimized platforms, highly inefficient powertrains, poor battery tech/low mileage/slow charging. the list goes on...
Other than Tesla.. hyundai and rivian are the standouts who can make a decent EV system. the rest are straining to get 120 miles range and even if they can, they charge incredibly slow or have a lot of reliability issues.
As someone who just sold their Ev6 after 6 months back to go back ICE your information isn't true at all.
Rivian major quality control issues just like Tesla is where parts just don't work especially with their tailgates and air suspensions as well as infotainment. Hyundai and Kia both are having major issues with their first electric vehicles. The Ioniq 5 having power management issue causing the whole charging system to freeze up and restart randomly. Ev6 has less issues but wire harness failure leading to preamp failing is their major problem. Both don't have issues with coil wine of motors and gearing issues on the single powertrain.
It isn't 2018 almost every electronic vehicle on the market can do 250 mile of range on a charge. I don't know what you're talking about with poor charging rates? Even the bolt can do 150kw DC fast charging on 2022 model.
And you can clearly see that the "leaked" image posted in the OP is just a cropped photo of the image in that article as you can tell by the RX EV concept taillight in the shot in the exact same position.

OK, its hard to spot. Let me enlarge and play with the filter.
