Obviously, the person that started this post has already decided. So this is for people considering buying a previously enjoyed Lexus.
I hope the reason for looking at a used Lexus or Toyota is reliability. So personally I would not bother with the extended warrantee. Plus for the money they are asking. You could probably pay less out of pocket.
2 must do things when buying any used car:
1) Have a trusted mechanic pre inspect the car. Not after you buy.
2) Ask for maintenance paperwork. Not everyone keeps these records but people that care about their cars usually do. If it was a lease without paperwork, walk away.
Are these a guarantee? No but you'll have a better chance of not getting hosed.

I will say I have had very positive experiences with Geico's MBI (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance)/warranty which applies to mainly new cars or very low mileage vehicles. $250/deductible. This is on a Ford econobox, ha, so of course it came in handy quite a bit. It added about $80-120/annually while I had the car under the 7 year max term. Completely worth it and I would not hesitate to do it again.

My next purchase will be a Lexus and I am strongly considering buying from CarMax due to their warranty offerings. It also appears to be well reviewed.

I have asked numerous times for some proof that the CPO ES350 I purchased is actually CPO. I have tried till tired, of getting info from dealer in Pembrook Pines to get specific confirmation. Not one reference number, checkmark, anything in paperwork. Carfax did say if was being sold as CPO, but that wont hold up when I try to get my oil changes or fixes on this side of the state. I have even contacted "Lexus Brand Engagement" who said they contacted the dealer and they would call by days end....what day??

Surprised to hear that about Pembroke Pines. That’s where I bought mine and I found them to be very conscientious and determined to please. Keep after them. I’m hopeful they’ll come through for you.
