Default Anyone have an oil filter wrench to recommend?

None of my previous cars used this type of filter, and there are so many options out there.

This style of wrench has always worked well for me and they're not very expensive at all. Make sure it has the sides that will line up with the housing to make removal easier and to not break the housing either.

Walmart has a wrench that fits these filters for 4-5 bucks.

I own the assenmacher oil filter cup/wrench, it fits my 2014 ES350
perfectly, it doesn’t engage the 2 flats which some tools are known to crack if the tool slips, I’ve had this tool for 13 years, no problems. You can verify fitment through assenmacher website if in doubt or ask on Amazon question/answer tab.

This is the best oil filter wrench I have found for Lexus and Toyota. We have had 6 different Lexus cars and this wrench has been the best investment I have made for oil changes.

I am not yet a member of the Lexus owner's family but I changed the oil in my Sister-In-Law's RX350 a couple of weeks ago and used Pennzoil's version of the filter wrench similar to the one pictured in post #2 above.

I must say, I would not recommend their version of this particular tool. It is of low quality and felt very sloppy. Now, granted, whoever did her last oil change most certainly over torqued the filter housing but this Pennzoil tool that you would find at Autozone, O'reillys, etc. is not one I would use again.

Just my $0.02.

for the hybrid i can say the wrench/strap style doesn't work because there's not enough room to swing it. so don't use that type.

managed to eventually get the filter off but was turning it like 1mm at a time. took forever.

so i bought the cup style and it's much better.
