Default Windshield Wipers

I can get OEM's for about $45 shipped from Ebay. Is there a blade as good as the Lexus OEM? I have 55,000 and 4 years on mine and they are still working decent but not like new.

Expensive, you could just order the wiper inserts and replace it yourself. Significantly cheaper.

on any Lexus / Toyota you can replace the rubber insert only. This is significantly cheaper and the dealers typically swap them for free.

Trico ICE blades - perfect fit right out of the package and high quality. you're in CT so subject to winter weather like me. I use them all year round anyway. Forget the inserts - they're a real PITA to swap.

I buy Rain-X at Walmart for about $13.00 each or the ones Mike buys Trico Exact-fit. Either one takes about 2 minutes to change out... Both high quality blades...

And anyone that wants to purchase blades or anything else at Advance Auto, just order it online using a 15% promo code (once you start searching online, you'll see a code) and then pick up at your local store.

I never had a real good experience with Anco or Trico. I go Bosch or PIAA Sillcone if aftermarket, but I'm sure Lexus's own stuff is excellent too.

I believe Lexus/Toyota recommends new rubber every 6 to 12 mos whether it be inserts or blades.

Given my OE blades started streaking slightly at 1.5 years, I figure yearly rubber change is fine. So given that, I think aftermarket high quality rubber insert replacement is adequate. Or if you prefer Toyota branded inserts that's fine too. Whatever you do just do the cheap inserts. no need for factory assembly replacements for $50.

The chinese replacements I posted about the other week perform great in extremely heavy rain. Entire aftermarket blade replacement. (not just the inserts) I kept the stockers just in case! no problems!

Don't get OEM wipers. It is way too expensive. Over the past years, I have tried pretty much every popular brand that was highly rated on Amazon (Rain-X, Trico, Michelin, etc.). All of them end up squeaky or have part of the windshield not cleaned thoroughly on every pass. Better buy cheaper wipers and change it often depending where you are located and the road conditions.

I am from Canada and my usual routine is that I would change it at the beginning of the Winter and throw it away right after the winter months (where the wipers takes loads of beating with all the road salts and grimes) for the summer season. For the summer, I use a basic one and would sometimes reuse it for next summer since it doesn't a beating like in the winter seasons (still in good condition). I have bought a set of wipers on Amazon from the brand ''Aslam'', which comes with the 2 sides + 2 replacement wipers for around 30 CAD $.

Good point. I have found many aftermarket repacements to be noisy. But the OEM's are quiet.

+1 on the inserts right from Lexus, they perform very well, no streaks, no noise and no erratic vibration while wiping. I buy them and my filters usually once a year, I get 2 sets of inserts at a time and keep a set inside my house in the bags they come from dealer in, to prevent heat or UV damage.it is easy to change them, they are cheaper and last way longer than anything aftermarket. It you do buy aftermarket save your OEM blades so you have them to re line them with inserts if you aren’t happy with the aftermarket blades.
