Immediately on starting the car, not yet in drive - can we turn that off Or is that a legal thing? Minor annoyance. I guess I could buckle up before starting, but I’m too old for new routines 😁
Don't know if it's illegal to turn it off but you can if you get the Carista OBD w/ subscription. pretty cool to customize all the little things with your car and then cancel subscription after 1 month. I turned off the chime for the front seats but left it on for the back for when I do have kiddos just in case
You can look in the personalized settings for that option. Seat belt chime is option 40-44.
After positing, I did read a 2010 USDOT Report FMV SS14:
"An audible warning to the vehicle operator must be activated whenever the key is in the starting system and the door located closest to the driver’s designated seating position is opened. An audible warning to the vehicle operator need not activate: (a) After the key has been inserted into the starting system, and before the driver takes further action; or (b) If the key is in the starting system in a manner or position that allows the engine or motor to be started or to continue operating; or (c) For mechanical keys and starting systems, after the key has been withdrawn to a position from which it may not be turned."
