There was a death yesterday in a Tesla, surprisingly it didn't catch fire. It's not on the Tesla deaths website yet (run by same guys as fire site) https://apnews.com/article/technolog...29c9dfb094524c

Yep ICE cars catch on fire. I had a Pontiac Grand Prix go up in flames many years ago. GM recalled them all months later.

I had a Jaguar XJ8 catch on fire, small fire I luckily noticed before I went inside after parking it in my garage. Could have been catastrophic. Fortunately it was covered under warranty.

That was the car that pushed me to Lexus actually! Traded for an LS430 and never looked back.

That stat is potentially misleading in that most cars are probably at greater risk of fire as they deteriorate with age, and the Tesla fleet as a whole is among the newest on the road.

Yes, you have a point. It is more a topic for Car Chat (where, as I type this, the most current topic is about Tesla). He no longer owns an ES, and he is no longer posting about one.

Yeah, don't be surprised if you walk into a biker bar and start talking about your new Prius that everyone starts ****-talking your new ride.

I'm not worried about fires. statistically overblown and not relevant anyway, as mentioned above. the other day a bmw crashed on the vegas strip (minor crash too) and it lit on fire. lots of fuel lines etc towards the front, underside, and rear of ICE cars. on ice cars the fuel lines are just chillin down below exposed to the road. Point is fire can happen on any vehicle. the news just likes to amp up EV fires on their coverage.

anyway someone bought my old Lexus.

No need for the steering wheel - it's autonomous driving?

You're a good guy even if you have a bad Tesla!
