I went with the upgraded warranty based on miles not time, 125k miles. My reasoning was that I commute 40-50 minutes both ways to work and I would rather just pay a little more for some peace of mind than anything else. I am financing for 60 months even after a good down payment just to keep my monthly's low.
But I am also a sucker for upgrades. I went with all the warranty upgrade options just because. To me it didn't add much more to my total monthly payment and I make enough where I won't miss it.

I’ve had two extended warranties on cars (a jag and a bmw) and got a prorated refund when I sold the cars.
