Default sport plus and custom diving modes

I bought a used 2021 ES350 F Sport. very nice car. One thing I noticed that it does not have a sport plus or custom driving modes. I was wondering why because in the Lexus catalog it states that models with adaptive variable suspension should have these driving modes. assumed that the f sport models have adaptive variable suspension. Any similar experience?

For 2022 and prior model years the adaptive variable suspension and custom drive mode has been a "F Sport Dynamic Handling Package" extra cost ($1610 for 2022) add-on to just the ES 350 F Sport model type.

Starting with the 2023 model year, Lexus made some changes in their offerings of the ES F Sport model types. The "F Sport Dynamic Handling Package" was eliminated and was replace with a split of F Sport model types into F Sport Design and F Sport Handling. The F Sport Handling model types are the types with the features included (as standard ones) in the previous years' F Sport Dynamic Handling Package. In addition to the prior years' ES 350 F Sport only option, the 2023 change added the ES 300h F Sport Handling model type for those buyers wanting those sport features in a hybrid model. The price differences between the 2023 F Sport Design and F Sport Handling model types ($1875 - ES 350 and $1910 - ES 300h) is slightly more than the cost of the previous years' package cost but that's due to slight differences in what's included as standard features for each model type.

I have an FSport sans AVS. I intentionally passed up on that option knowing the cost of replacing those shocks would be a shock😋

AVS is an option, it’s not standard. I was looking to get one with it but after seeing some threads here about it, im glad i didn’t. the performance dampeners are good enough.

What negative things did you read about the AVS?

Did you price out the price differential between standard and sport suspension replacement cost? The damper that runs parallel with the ground between the front wheels is made by Yamaha so I would think it's going to last.

oh, ok. I thought folks were having issues with them. Yeah, I thought about the cost before buying my car. I’m prepared to pay for new shocks once mine wear out, since I plan to keep this car for a very long time.

I recall reading a thread earlier where someone said the adaptive part itself is around $1,500 or more each side.

How often do you wear out shocks? They generally last 100K miles+. Replacement cost of suspension bits played zero factor in my purchasing decision. My brother recently replaced the struts/shocks on his Prius V, it had about 180,000 km on the car.

I don't care if they last 200K miles - I didn't want to think about it so I decided to shop for an ES without them.
