JDM parts install - no 56K
I finally got around to install my JDM corners and center vent. I was really busy lately redoing my stereo: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=257454
So here it is...
Since the JDM version does have a "city light" and the JDM bulb is only a single filament, I had to modify the wire harness. Keep in mind that the JDM version has an orange blinker and a white bulb that's on when the headlamps are on.
Remove the black plastic trim, by pulling off the black 2 pc. clips...
Remove the screw that holds that keeps the corner in place...
Pull straight out and remove the lamps...
Here's the USDM and the JDM plugs next to each other. Notice that one is for dual filament and the other is for a single filament...
Using a test light (with the corner lights on w/ hazard lights on), identify the wires...
White - ground. green w/orange - constant 12v. Green w/ yellow - blinking 12v
To remove the pins, carefully remove the white clip by wedging the clip out and up a little...

Pop off the white clip, and you'll see the tiny clips that hold on to the metal pins. Wedge it upwards with a pick and pull out the wire.
Do the same for the wire harness on the car. DO ONE AT A TIME, so you won't mix up the wires. Keep in mind that the wire colors for the JDM version is the same color as the US version.
Since the factory harness does not come with an additional ground for the city light I had to add one. I solder all my connections...
I bolted the new ground to the factory ground location (note the HID ground)...

Here's the finished harness, all plugged in.
It fits like "OEM"
Here's the aftermarket one btw. Notice how the lamps don't fit well...
Just do the same for the other side, its exactly the same.
Here's how it looks...

Here's the JDM center vent
Pull off the stock vent and unplug the two plugs.
Comparing the two side by side.
Reinstalled.
If anybody can tell where to stick this, let me know

the corner lights look pretty good. i like how they show up a brighter orange. kinda like the bmws. i unfortunately do not have connects like you do, so ill just be throwing in an led orange bulb to give off that nice contrast, like yours, of hid and orange corners at night time. i am also debating when my kit comes in, where/if i should put my autocouture sticker. ive been thinking about the rear window, but always been a fan of cleanliness for cars. looks good.
well goodluck

You are the man, Vin. Nice DIY. Not that any of us will be doing this anytime soon. Must be nice to have some JDM clear corners like no other (at least, not in your area).
You have been pretty busy lately. Speaker/Amp install, Corner lights, Air vent replacement. Keep up the great work.
