Suspension Upgrades & Performance Parts No-shows/Unknowns/Known Issues with 2nd gen ES:
This list is provided to alleviate some of the frustration that 2nd generation owners experience when attempting to locate parts to upgrade/update their suspension. The ES is the Lexus aftermarket stepchild anyway, and the 2nd generation parts are harder to find than the newer generation ESs. As you find things, please post up and I'll update the listing above.
Enjoy and good luck!

Has anyone put coilovers on a 92-96 ES? I'd like to include that in this list too; plus I'm slightly tempted to chuck it all with my current suspension overhaul and just go with coilvers (but that's another thread)

Thanks for doin this! It will come in handy when I finally get around to doing some suspension improvements. Its been so hard to find parts for the 2nd gen that I thought I'd be out of luck when the time came.

That's exactly the idea with this thread! I've had such a hard time while researching my own suspension overhaul, and have compiled such a list of components, I thought it might actually help some other folks. I'm glad you'll find it useful.

I think I'm gonna be going for the Eibach 1 inch drp.... Afraid 1.6 may be a bit too low... But I'm not sure.... it says 1 inch frm stock, but my question is, does stock suspension ever sag over 10 years?/ If not, then looking at the current gap between my fender and wheel, 1in should be good.

That was my exact line of thought this evening while staring at my car from the side at the car wash. I even arrived at the same decision - if I'm going UP on wheel size (likely 18s) and droping the car DOWN, then one inch should be plenty.
Maybe some other 2nd geners and others who've been here and done this can tell us if we're on the right track.

anything under 1.5" doesn't even make a first glance differance on the front end imho. now the tail, an inch 1.25" is fine. it's not far off stock normally. especially if you roll with some weight back there.

I'm corresponding with Ion Performance to see what applications they have/might develop for the 2nd generation ES, and their representative posed the following question:
Interesting that they've designed suspension for the 3rd generation (I don't recall seeing any on here?).
Can any of you Lexus experts help me answer this question with some real data/information?
Hi, do you know how similar the 3rd gen and 2nd gen suspension is?
We've designed suspension for the 3rd Gen ES300, from our understanding
the suspension design is quite similar. If we were to design a spring for
the 2nd Gen, it wouldn't take too much effort.
Best Regards,
Jack

Suspension Arms
Hey Slooooooow I need new rear trailing arms for my 92 (they are bent) Will Camry arms fit, and how much $$$ are we talking? They are the rear bars with the turn buckles for toe adjustment... Any info?

The parts are chasis-dependent, not brand-specific. The part numbers are running the same and the prices are close among the sample of sites I surveyed. Here's what you're looking at:
Trailing Arm:

I'll add this to the list above as well. Hope this helps and good luck!
