New Update fog light bulbs in... JDM inspired of course

This is a before:

The bulbs i purchased, best 10 USD spent I was deliberating getting a 'quality' set but after a little research and seeing how most bulbs are coming out of China i figured why waste money? The only thing *really* differing all bulbs is the end packaging they use [most likely] as the process of making them must be the same damn thing and probably the same factory.

Here is what the 2001 ES300 mount up the fog lights, as opposed to the thread for the 97-99 ES300, the mounting points are different. Did not take 'actual pics' since it was dark and you wouldn't be able to anything to begin with but the MSPaint is a good representation and self explanatory!

So the difference being this vs, the older ES's is that the screw is on the side, it 'slides into' a groove as part of the bumper. The screw has a washer. DO NOT turn the first screw you see as it is the one to adjust the light itself [yes, i did turn it ] The left side was apiece of cake in terms of access [again refer to instruction in the other thread, remove corner lamp (one screw on top) hole exposes fog at the bottom]

Left side in:

Comparison: [not the best shot but you can see that it is in fact more yellow than the right side!]

So now we are left with the right side. By this point it was getting darker out and the mosquitoes were having a great feast off my blood.

Anyways, SURPRISE!

Both Horns were located there, attempted to access it with the tiny gap, and refused to remove headlight.

What do i do next? *sorry about the blurriness*

That's right access it from the bottom, easily achieved by removing yet another screw that holds the plastic liner for the underbody/engine bay area. With this off just a little bit there was ample room to unscrew it and went even faster than the left side!

Done:

Both are just as yellow now, and again sorry about the picture it isn't the best presentation of the lights. Will get better ones soon.

Last:

Thanks for looking.

Mike

Btw, stay tuned, waiting on my last LED for the trunk and i will be throwing up pictures of the full LED interior conversion!

Thanks man, although they were somewhat 'educational' to show the look of the yellow.

As a side note, after two evenings i notice the sides of the road/ditch areas 'stand out more' they show more of the little things the factory halogens did not show. The ultimate test will be when i encounter some fog and see how they perform i do not expect miracles but nonetheless the yellow light output should clear that up, whereas before the halogen lighting = useless. I am glad i have HID's never again am i gonna run halogens.

I'll bump this thread each time with a new update, like i said next installment is the LED's and when i get a job *sigh* i want to lamin-x the fogs, purchase/miraculously refresh the right side lens so it would be clear again as opposed to yellow, some better driving/DRL/High beam bulbs, LED taillights, and some maintenance!

nothing vast or exciting but we shall see

Thanks for sharing..this is great! Now, what was the name of the manufacturer bulb? I can't really make it out on the package. What is the wattage? I want the yellow bulbs too. As is, the stock bulbs are too dull and don't put out much extra light.

The wattage is one thing i was looking out for when buying. Stock is 55W and the ones i purchased are 55W as well.

Click the link to see the item that was bought on eBay a whole 10 USD shipped.

I figured might as well go cheap, since if i do not like the look i am not out of 20-30$. When these go out i will simply purchase some 'Nokya' bulbs as i have been told by numerous personal and online reviews that they are the best bang for the buck and perform as well as, lol, those 85$ rip off 'PIAA' bulbs. I laugh at the idiots spending let alone justifying that much on such bulbs as we all know nowadays everything is coming out of China. Differences being is teh packaging.

I have a dealer in my area selling Nokya H3 bulbs for $19.99 for a pair. I'm wondering if I just shouldn't go to him instead of dealing with Ebay.

Also considering replacing the low beams to a blue, I believe those are H7's?

Do it. 20$ is a great price for those!

And yes, H7's, if you are not certain you can look on the light lens itself to see the 'stamped' H7 in it

I am probably selling them soon, to get [hopefully] IS300 wheels. AS much as i love these i think the IS300 ones will look all in all more suited for the car.

Time will tell. If the dude selling the IS300 rims flakes then i will keep these and get some proper tires!

Enkei RS5's in 17" with 225/45R17 rubber.

You won't find these as they have been discontinued for a few years now...

just a FYI, i have the nokya h3, 2500K, lasting over a year. lol

and as for 01LEXPL, go grab some non amber side marker lights. see how you like it. i threw in some clear 'euro' lights...i think it'll look better with the headlights, too many colors ya know?

yellow sidemarker bulbs are alright. but they're just not bright enough =\ (i have a set, not happy with them)
