well i was talking to this guy about a set of racing seats for my car (keep your comments to a minimum), so yea he offered a set of recaro's for $700.. theyre oil stained, but i was gonna wrap em in leather anyway, so that didnt matter, so we got on the topic of whether they would look right since my car isnt the fastest in the world... so then he asked me if the es300 and camry were basically the same >_< i said yea.. same motor same chassis.. he told me that the chaser and the camry have the same chassis and since the chaser has a 2jz (or 1jz.. cant remember) it would be a direct swap.. and i could also take the tranny and make my es300 rwd... at this point i soiled my pants.. so if it is possible, ill do it by next summer (i need the funds)... can anyone verify that the chaser has the mcv20/vcv20 chassis??

cliffs notes: does the chaser have the same chassis code as the es300? if so: 2jz swap soon to come

with all that labor and parts, I think you might as well import a markII directly from japan, it's just not realistic to do that to a daily driver unless you are going to show everybody that "IT CAN BE DONE" if so, money talks

its realistic, but not practical.. and if its a direct swap i wanna be the first to do it.. what can i say.. im an attention *****.. lol

I'd go for the TRD/Kazuma supercharger project, instead. From what I've read, by using aftermarket pulleys to increase boost, the 1MZ-FE can put out 343HP at the crank. Of course, the stock auto would need to be tweaked (new, stronger clutch plates, and you might need a tranny computer from a Solara or Camry), but you'd need some tranny mods for a 2JZ swap, too.

what kind of racing sit are u getting...i think it will look so much better than the tan leather anyway...
i can tell u for sure the CHASER and the Windom is not the same chassis or platform...
since the Chaser is base on the Aristo/GS300/GS400, so they are far from similiar...

also the chassis code for the Chaser is JZX100/90,

yea i was counting on mcv20 to get me the correct info... *sigh* i suppose a 2jz would be possible but i wouldve done it for sure if it was direct swap.. since it isnt ill get the recaro racing seats and get em rewrapped... i was gonna spring for bride seats, but since i wouldve gotten em wrapped in leather, it wouldve been pointless to buy bride since you buy it for the name really

Recaro, Sparco, Bride.....I wouldn't mind either one of 'em.

So you scored the seats Hoebag? Post up pics when you get them installed! That is my next mod once I get a new suspension going..

i want to.. eventually.. that will come when the turbo comes... gonna be a lot of custom work on the interior for the solara 5spd tranny
