Hardwiring an ES350 for a passport 9500.
Today I wired my '10 IS250 and my Wife's '10 ES350. Turned out to be easier than when I did my '07 IS. Maybe I learned something ion those 3 yrs.
I discovered on my IS I could snake a line down from the center speaker to the center console and pick up power at the cigarette lighter. The whole process took about an hour and the wire kit cost less than $10 on Amazon.
I popped the center speaker grill and the was enough space to get the wire by the speaker (my IS didn't have a center speaker, there was nothing under the grill).
With the grill off, I pulled the speaker - 2 10mm bolts - and dropped the snake (coat hangar) it came out at the side of the console and the wire pulled through with no problem.
The Center console shift cover was a snap to remove. SET THE PARKING BRAKE. Remove the Shift **** then remove the cover to the shift release button and then shift to Neutral to remove the cover.
I was able to slip the wire into the console by gently prying out the lower end of the trim where it meets the carpet. I did not have to remove the trimpiece.
You can now access the wires to the cigarette light. I used a 3M tap to get power.
I picked up a ground to the side of the shifter. There is a 12mm bolt there.
Then just reverse the procedure and button it up
