Default door chrome chipping

Does anyone have this problem. The car is like 2 years old and been doing this. Now the drivers side is too any no one barely sits there!

Its pissing me off Ive never had a car have anything chip away like this and esp. not a luxury car WTF!? I thought it was my wife's ring doing it but it cant be because the passenger side is doing it now too.

Same thing happened to my 2010 after about two years and the dealer replaced them without a question. And I believe it involved the whole assembly.

No problem here after 2 1/2 years. i agree, if you're still under warranty it should be replaced.

Still barely under warranty. I'm going to buy a platinum extended tomm.

Speaking of which I noticed it says that it covers timing belts. I'm guessing 60k is when it needs to be replaced. Will they do that under the platinum warranty when it's ready?

No timing belt on the engine in the current gen ES350. It's a chain now.

I would imagine that if it had a belt and it needed to be replaced as preventative maintenance it would not be covers. I would think that the ext. warranty only covers repairs. Am I correct?

Well if you look under the warranties it says it covers timing belts and chains.

Also doesn't chains ussually get changed around 90 k?

Belts at 90K miles but timing chains are normally designed to last for the "life of the vehicle".

I'm not crazy about lifetime trans fluid.
However,I rarely keep a vehicle long enough to worry about it.

Same here. Plus with the powertrain warranty of 72 months or 70k miles no need to worry too much about things like timing chains and trans fluid for a few years.

Wow, that's horrible. I hope mine never does that. If it does, I'll be headed straight to the dealer.
