What you fail to realize is...he's not interested in this information or this help. He wants us to tell him its Lexus' fault and that they should replace it free of cost.

SW10....Can you please provide the document or facts that shows that the faulty dash was caused by previous owner. As I have read many of your quotes whether on Dr's , windshields, used cars its your way or the wrong way. get over yourself...you are an enigma imo on this forum. People like you make me visit site less and less.

I'm not entirely sure where this is coming from, seeing that I am by far not the only person that expressed the opinion that its more likely something that was put on the dash than a widespread issue with the car, because we would have heard more complaints on here and the other Lexus forum. If you have some reason to believe otherwise, please post that...

Really not interested in getting into a back and forth over this...

JRey350 --- I am 100% in agreement with you..Furthermore, I believe people, coming to this site with a problem, are seeking assistance and positive input........People need to RECOGNIZE that name calling and/or going off on a tangent is neither beneficial or warranted....The fact is the sticky dash problem is still a problem....I hope this dash problem will be resolved by Lexus Corp or the dealer where he bought the car...........

Guys, you're the ones dragging this discussion off track. We were on topic and discussing the sticky dash issue until you came in and decided it was "bash Steve's head in day". You commented on statements that were made about 10 days ago when on topic discussion had been happening since.

If you want to beat me up and call me names, send me a PM and leave the OP's thread alone.

I bought a used '07 about a year ago. I thought I could get the car home and detail or treat the sticky dash somehow. It really was a mess and NOTHING would get the defect out. As I researched this defect, it has been a KNOWN defect by Lexus in hot climate states [Fla,Arizona Cali,Ga,etc] where people park outside all day. If you'll notice, the folks who have parked the car outside all the time live in Nothern climes. My car is a CPO car and I am a three-time Lexus owner. My tech wanted to paint the dash, but I insisted on talking with the sverice manager and the whole dash was replced, n/c.

Did the Lexus dealer have some sort of a TSB or something referencing the issue? Where did you do that research?

You would think we would have heard about it here and on the LOC, plenty of members from southern climates...

There's a lot more ES350's on the road than IS's.
Yet,the IS has had a TSB on the dash issue and not the ES.
These couple of incidents on a ES dash problem are the first I've heard of.

Interesting, see below:

http://www.justanswer.com/lexus/60jr...exus-love.html

Here's a post in a IS thread about an '07 ES from a member in Hawaii that only posted once:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6652927-post10.html

These seem to be the only 3 instances posted on Lexus forums though, which does seem odd given how many more ES's are on the road...

I don't think that the OP has been back. I wonder if he ever found any resolution to the problem?

I read on another thread that over 300,000 of the current gen ES350's have been sold. That's a lot of cars without many mentions of the sticky dash problem. Not saying ti doesn't happen, but seems like it's not too widespread.

And just here you have 44,334 posts on this generation ES350 alone, and so far as we can tell only one post in this forum about a sticky dash problem, nearly 10,000 posts at the LOC and no mention of anything...

My 2005 ES330, does have a dash problem. But its not melting rather its cracking. There are many posts on this very forum (some by ES owners) with same problem.
Mine is kind of risky as its cracking around where air bag is located. Searched on ebay for used dash panel, couldn't find one. No idea how much the labor would be even if I find one.

Added later - Found one on eBay. And .... its cracked exactly the same way mine is. Take a look at one of the pictures at the bottom.

Now that issue is not uncommon, the dash pad material shrinks and creates a gap around the airbag cover on a non-garaged vehicle. Its not risky, doesn't effect the airbag as the airbag module and the airbag cover are all one piece.
