I know the topic has been brought up before, but I just wanted to comment on it. My 2007 ES350 had the infamous door window jump off track issue happen a few days ago. Unfortunately, even though there's a Service Bulletin about it, the warranty repair on it was only covered during the normal 50,000 4 year period. Of which, I am out of. So, it cost me out of pocket to get it repaired.
With a little whining on my part, I was able to cost down from $750 to about $$635. (Plus tax of course). I did some research, and now that I am more familiar with the window track issue, if it happens again or to my other door, I will most likely take the car to SAFELITE glass. To replace the door glass in the lexus was $325 + Tax. So, basically about $300 less. Now; whether or not you trust SAFELITE or not, is up to you. But for $300 difference, I will definitely consider it.
Better yet, from my limited research, it isn't rocket science to take off the door panel. And I have found NO LESS than 10 places on the internet where you can buy the door window glass for between $100 - $200. I've worked on enough cars in the past. I should be able to figure out how to remove the door panel.

It happen to me on my 07 es350....The window starts to make a popping sound which indicates the plastic tabs are ready to break. These tabs are built into the glass and cannot be replaced so a new glass is required...The dealer wanted $660....I I had an independent glass shop do it for $220 with a lifetime warranty...The pinch protector has to be reset manually.. If not reset, you have to override the auto setting...I discussed this in other threads ....Hope this helps...
