Yes, that was my fault for trusting Tesla on the ETA......now I have to be her private "Uber" driver until the Y arrive.

congrats! do you have a checklist of what to look for during your delivery inspection?

my father in law recently got a model y (in white haha) and i told him to check for things and reject if noteworthy. he said his car arrived ok, with some water inside the trunk area likely due to a seal but he accepted nonetheless. few days later his front a-pillar cover keeps popping off and he just punches it back in place. he is happy! don't want to turn this into a tesla quality thread but wanted to hear your thoughts on what you will do (and what you did once the vehicle is here)!

Yes I definitely have a check list. I'll be going over the whole car, starting with exterior, then interior. I'll be looking at things like panels, paint, wheels, trim etc. Of course windows, doors and seals. If I find something minor that can easily be fixed, I'll take delivery as I am near the Fremont factory and they usually send techs to you

we should call them "elonstimates". wildly inaccurate and not going to happen. like every one of their vehicle introductions.

"Elon time" is a well known term in the Tesla ownership circles... "Soon", or "this year" generally means years. "Next year" is .... who the heck knows?
Cybertruk, Roadster II, you get the picture.

That's a good checklist, but it would take you longer to go through all those then it does to assemble the car itself!

I won't be going through that whole checklist. I know exactly what to look for, for minor stuff I may discover, in my area Tesla sends a tech out, so if there is nothing major like panel gaps, malfunctioning screen etc, I'll take delivery

Holy macaroni that is quite a crazy list to check. Is it because it’s a tesla? Am I the minority? All I do is checking any damage to the paint and inside. Many times if the car was coming in, I told them to leave the plastic on for me to remove at home. I start the car, do a quick drive and go home. I must have been lucky?

I posted that checklist as a joke. It will literally take 10 minutes to inspect
