I think that's the just the angle of the photo, I took it standing instead of stooping low. There is also black plastic trim, which gives it an appearance of more of a gap than it is. It's definitely higher up than both the Polestar and the Ioniq 5....on both those cars I hit my head going in if the seats are not all the way down, not so with the Y

I've now had my 2023 Model Y LR for a year. Currently at 15,816 miles, it has given me Zero issue, Zero drama, and other than some scratches here and there (and a cracked windshield) from normal wear & tear, it has had no quality or mechanical issues whatsoever. I've taken it on numerous trips, including one to a rural part of California where there was only one destination charger in the whole town, and so far it's been a great travel car along with being a great family car and daily commuter. As far as Supercharging on trips, I've never run into an issue where I had to wait for an available charger, and only once did I find a charger that didn't work.
As far as maint is concerned, I've spent $80 on two tire rotations, and whatever the cost has been for multiple bottles of windshield washer fluid, which I buy in bulk on Amazon. I don't know exactly what I've spent on fueling her, but I can say with confidence it's been one quarter of what I would have spent on gasoline.
I say this with the utmost confidence that this is the best vehicle I've ever owned for the money. With constant software updates, it's only gotten better. Calling it an appliance is fine, because frankly, that's what it is. But calling it a cheap appliance, I dispute that 100 percent. If they had a minivan version of the Model Y, it would be the best vehicle that ever existed. For those who own Minivans and have families, you probably understand what I'm talking about
Our other two cars, the Polestar and Ioniq 5 are both great vehicles, but when their leases are up next year, both are going to be replace by Tesla's....a Model 3 Performance for the Polestar and another Model Y (base RWD) will be replacing the Ioniq 5

My brother in law picked up a set of Oedro all weather mats for his Model Y. They seem to be well made, and they are cheap, so he sent me a set as well. I'm not to happy with the WeatherTecs I have, so these will be replacing them
I'll review them once I've installed them

New floor mats now installed. They fit perfectly, tight and snug. Much better than the WeatherTecs they replaced
Also came with Frunk, trunk, and trunk compartment liners, which WeatherTec charges extra for

The problem with the WeatherTech is the front drivers side mat keeps curling up on the right side, partially blocking the accelerator pedal. The new mats are nice and tight, no curling. Also the WeatherTechs look kind of plasticy, the new ones look much better

Just picked up a spoiler for the Model Y
It's not carbon fiber like the one sold by Tesla, but it's also not $550 . Seems to be good quality materials, $26 shipped on Temu.com. should be an easy install

Just installed cup holder protectors:
Extremely high quality materials. Got them for $6.95...shipped no tax from Temu. Here's what the same cupholders cost on Amazon pre-tax:

Lead Lap
I need to get off my butt and get some of these. It seemed strange to me why someone would buy cupholder protectors for cupholders and never heard of such a thing before but after a couple years my cars cupholders look like crap even when I wipe them down. I need to get some asap.
Also the floor mats you got look similar to my Maxspider floor mats and look great. I never cared for the way weathertech mats looked so I never bought them.
