Well I certainly can't speak for service centers outside of California, but that is not how they do things here. That's not to say there are no people who've had bad experiences, @patgilm certainly had a few
I finally had a good service experience this week when I requested a cabin filter change and a new plastic part that goes over my seat control that kept falling off. At first they wanted me to bring it in which wasn’t what the service advisor said last time I was in for warranty work but after some messaging in the app they agreed to have mobile service to come out. Unfortunately they came out and didn’t have the cabin filter so they agreed to come back a few days later and replace it for free while I was on vacation. I was pretty happy about that even though I’m not sure why they didn’t reschedule in the first place when they realized they didn’t have the cabin filter.
I also have to say the service advisors and techs have always been very nice and pleasant to talk to.

Quality of 12 volt batteries has gone into the toilet check out the various Lexus model forums here so many people are having issues even on brand new cars.

The Polestar, Ioniq 5 and my daughters Bolt all use 12 volt lead acid, and I have no idea why. Ok, the Polestar shares a platform with with it's Volvo gasoline counterpart, not sure why Hyundai and the Bolt still use them. Only good thing about them is they are cheap and can easily be replaced with just a wrench, but they are heavy and failure prone

I remember when TFL Truck had the EV Hummer, it left them stranded on the first week and it came down to the 12v battery IIRC.
Here in the desert we consider it lucky if you get 4-5 years out of a 12v car battery in general. I'm at almost 5 years on the battery in my truck, it'll likely need replacing soon. The one in my BMW will also probably need replacement in the near future. I believe it's original to the car(manufactured in early 2017).
I'm running AGM's rather than FLA.

Just like every other car, the battery has to be replaced every few years. I wasn't aware until about 6 months ago when talking to my buddy with the Rivian that these EV's had more than one battery (go ahead, make fun of me)... His died after only 6 months of owning his R1S (this was a fluke as his truck had an issue causing it to always stay "awake" even when he wasn't in the truck).
There's the 12V battery which powers things like interior lights, screen power, AC, etc. and then the battery that keeps the car itself charged and driveable.
I didn't see the tech change it out, but I believe it's in the frunk somewhere.

i've noticed my ev usb port that does apple carplay stays powered even after i get out of the car and lock it. this became annoying because the wireless carplay adapter i got would stay on and my phone would connect to it when i was on the side of the house near the garage! i ended up buying a usb 'switch' to turn on/off the carplay adapter when i get out of the car.
but i don't know why the usb port stays powered.
on the ioniq 5 there's also this yellow/orange light on the center of the top of the dash (so you can see it when not in the car) that glows now and then when not in the car. i freaked out the first time i saw it, but apparently it's when the car is using its huge battery to trickle charge the 12v battery!

I don't remember if they still have an independent battery, or if the 48V systems run off the main battery via a step-down transformer.

As a shareholder, this could be a bumpy road for a while. But I believe in Tesla's vision overall and I personally think the other auto manufacturers are wrong about EV demand. I bought the stock with long term (5+ years) hold in mind anyway, so even if I was up big I wouldn't sell.
