FSD is getting there this is a highly challenging drive even for a human. Pedestrians are a menace.

Wifey Gjeebs should not be using FSD she doesn't appear to understand she is responsible for the car. Maybe I'm wrong but based on that clip that's what it seems like. Also FSD 12.x.x is not used on most freeway sections that falls back to 11.

I finally got the update to my Y this weekend that activated the 1 month free FSD. This was my first time experiencing it and it is a novelty for sure. I found myself just using it everywhere I went, but not sure if I will when the novelty wears off. It drives surprising well in some instances, but in others, like it's a teenager. For some reason, it is extremely throttle heavy, and will accelerate IMO too quickly and then hard braking too soon and then creep to a stop. Because it is also limited in its vision, it cannot see lights and countdowns like a human can so will continue to accelerate unnecessarily before hard braking again to a stop. Also, the complete stop at stop signs (while I know required) is not driver friendly in California, with all the impatient (including myself) drivers. Still extremely fascinating to experience door to door self driving.

I've no idea if this is true

Tesla (TSLA) is rumored to be preparing a massive round of layoffs

15/04/2024 | 00:56 GMT-0Media report:
  • Tesla announced to Gigafactory Texas employees that it will shorten Cybertruck production shift amid rumors that it is preparing a round of layoffs.
  • We received several reports today from Tesla employees hearing rumors of an important round of layoffs happening this week at the company.
  • Some of them are talking about layoffs as high as 20% of the workforce, which would mean tens of thousands of employees.
  • Tesla has been expected to reduce production to adjust for what appears to be lower demand.
  • Last month, the automaker reduced production at Gigafactory Shanghai, its most productive factory.
  • The rumors come after a very bad quarter and comes with Tesla reducing production capacity.

It's true.

Interestingly, pre market shows negative sentiment on this...at times, such layoffs help a stock. lean and meaner, the spin is. Plus, less costs of course. All depends on the underlying conditions and the current external environment of the business.

layoff on reuters now...

tl;dr - 'more than' 10% - which is at least 14,000 job losses.

Layoff news coincides with the news of a pause in CT deliveries due to an accelerator pedal issue and 7 day stop sale

to be fair, this is not the first time they have done large layoffs even during high growth periods. What surprises me is reports of them cutting Cybertruck shifts by a total of 2.5 hours per day. Cybertruck demand can't be down already so why the cut in hours?
