Understand what you mean, but zero chance this could be spun positive. TSLA been getting its teeth kicked in all quarter. Even a hint of something that could be negative will drop it. If Tsla was in a better spot then yea, definitely could be a good thing for investors. Heck, even positive news right now doesnt move the needle short term.

Wait until Musk brings out another current vaporware to prop the stock.

I love the way this is being spinned, it's quite amusing to me. A sign of the apocalypse? End of Tesla? Can't wait for them to declare bankruptcy 🤣🤣

My company had a 30 percent cut when COVID hit, than a 20 percent cut last year before Q4. Today our stock is up, and we are about to make a partnership that's worth Billions. Every company faces slowdowns, my friend works for Meta where they recently laid off 10k, previous to that 30k. Yet they are doing quite well

Nice improvement - hopefully it has width adjustment.
Needs to have leather and massage options to complete with German sport sedans.

Next 2yrs will be tough.
Persistent inflation and high interest rates are making it hard for consumers to purchase new cars. They are going to go for the teaser rates like the 0% that Ford was offering.

I think long term Tesla will be fine.
This is a smart move to save on expenses as they see less demand for the next several quarters.

I believe Tesla will be offering 0% rates sooner than later. A refreshed Model Y will be a big boost for them. Current owners have zero incentive / reason to upgrade to a 2024 Model Y. I won't be shocked if Tesla follow other software companies and start reserving new software features to new models like how phone manufacturers do it.

Maybe they will give away some software features like FSD or something to get an edge on sales?

Ok, I don't know what I'm talking about and not a Tesla expert so go easy on me, just ideas. Lol

I read somewhere that Ford was going to start offering conquest cash for Tesla owners too

The only Ford EV I would consider is the F-150 Lightning. But the amount they offer would have to be compelling

The surprising thing about the layoffs is that suddenly and belatedly arriving at the conclusion you're 10% overstaffed is how the legacy businesses operate and not how Tesla with its "tune and tweak everything, constantly" management philosophy would normally handle things.

Ford is indeed offering conquest cash. You don't have to trade in, you just have to show you have a Tesla. It's not going to make a massive difference, it's just one of several incentives. My local dealer actually bought a Model 3/Y for their dealership and they encourage people looking at a Mach E to test both.

no one has a perfect crystal ball, and if you have the 'move fast and break things' philosophy, and are growing, then when pretty suddenly the growth falls, you have to make cuts. i've been through this in startups. when the rocket slows, people get hurt.

Yep, I've worked for start-ups for the last 25 years, and one day you are on cloud nine, the next, big cuts. One of our startups went through three rounds of cuts where whole teams were cut. It can feel like Armageddon, literally, but that's how you survive

You mean, kinda like Fisker, where you pay for features BEFORE you get them? hahaha

One thing that catches the eye about the stock is that TWO senior executives resigned today. I assume that, more than other things, is affecting it.
