This business – located in regional Victoria, who’s name we are keeping private at their request, has a large carpark which was due to include a four-bay Tesla Supercharger. In an email sighted by EFTM, a legal representative for the business advised the General Manager that “I have just received a voicemail from (Name redacted at Staff request) at Tesla advising that the Tesla Supercharger team has been dissolved globally and there will be no more supercharger sites moving forward.
You can't make this stuff up, they are cancelling new superchargers globally.

Is Tesla predicting a decline in all car sales globally coming soon?
I think Elon knows something and not telling. Lol
I can't see him scrapping new locations unless they are bleeding money or if his crystal ball is a prediction of things to come.

What do you all think is really going on?
Is Tesla predicting a decline in all car sales globally coming soon?

Anyway, that's what I think, if I'm wrong someone prove me otherwise

There is a huge difference between cutting some programs such as internships, and disbanding complete supercharger team.
Nobody cares about internship program, for that to work a lot of people at Tesla had to give it a lot of time and they might not have that time today.

This is just my take...building supercharger networks is expensive. States like California offer tax incentives for EV's, solar, charging etc. Now California EV rebate fund has run dry and as of December 2023, is not offered anymore, and probably tax incentives for charging also may be drying up. And with the Federal government taking large chunks of our tax money and sending them to foreign governments to fund wars, I'm pretty sure all the EV and charging incentives are going away. Add on top of that a global slowdown of EV adoption, I think it's purely a business decision.
Anyway, that's what I think, if I'm wrong someone prove me otherwise

However, disbanding whole team makes little sense. And this is actually worldwide. In Europe Tesla has gotten around 100 million in grants for building Superchargers in next year for instance.
Hey you are pissed at the team leader since she didnt listen and it is your company, you can fire her. It is not performing? Fire 50% of the team.
But to disband it so all the partners and contractors get nobody to talk to anymore? Pretty insane.
I am sure all the NACS partners feel amazing about this. Same goes for utilities that you are going to have to use for your existing site expansions.

It might be true that it is capital heavy.

I get what you are saying, it sucks and is not ideal for BEV adoption. But Tesla has been known to do stuff like this. For example, in 2015 I had solar panels installed by Solarcity. After Tesla acquired them, all CS disappeared. Literally. I ended up getting more solar panels installed through Sunrun. The Sunrun guy told me that after the Tesla acquisition of Solarcity, multiple solar installs were abandoned by Tesla, with Solar panels and inverters sitting in people's backyards collecting dust
I bet he goes in and re-hires bunch of them like he does.
But you dont treat your partners like that though.
