Was at the Tesla service center for a few hours yesterday to fix my squeaking screen and of course no loaner but I expected that. My car was out of warranty since I’m over 50k miles but they honored it because I made the appointment a couple weeks ago when it was under 50k miles and they are the ones that pushed out my appointment.
As always the service center people were great. The one service advisor I have dealt with before was very helpful. When I got there my car was very clean but somehow there was tar flung all over the passenger side of my car. I tied wiping off with paper towels and water and it just smeared all over. It was all over the wheel wells. It was awful and I’ve never had that happen. When he saw me trying to wipe it down while waiting in line for him he came over and said he will have his detailer see if he could take care of it and he did except for the wheel wells. That’s exceptional service to me and not necessary so kudos to them.
He also took me around and found a new Plaid to sit in so I could see how the new seats were and wow, they look great and feel great. They also had a nice new Model 3P which also looked great. I also looked at a new cybertruck that was in for service and he mentioned some are having battery issues like the one there and there is a windshield wiper motor recall because the one big wiper is too heavy. Regardless I thought it looked cool as hell but I would definitely have cuts washing the car because some of the edges are so sharp.
Yeah, I thought about that but it was shiny like paint with clear coat.
I got a pic but it is zoomed and didn't come out well
If I see it again I will get closer and see.
Some of these new modern wraps really do look like paint, they also make color change paint protection film now that is high gloss and metallic with no peel, you would never know it wasn't paint.

haha, it was so visually jarring to see those two pics one after the other. the first smooth design looks like it was made by a car company. the second design looks like it was made by a 3 year old.

Maybe I got fooled.
If I see the car parked at the store maybe I'll park close by and walk by it to get a better look.
I was just thinking that a color change paint job is serious work and very hard to come back from that
We're talking about painting door jams and every possible painted area, everywhere. Lol
If you can qualify for the credit the Model 3 is an absolute steal. Even without it, it's is a fantastic deal and an insane amount of car for the money. If you do qualify for the credit, it's unbeatable.
