I've done brakes and rotors myself and I'm no spring chicken anymore, so I'm just going to let him do them... when the time comes

To your point, I was having my tires rotated today with my mechanic, and he was looking at the calipers and brakes and telling me they were going to be expensive when the time comes. I asked him if could do it, he said easily. There you go 😀

Probably will never need new rotors unless you're in the salt belt, there is no excessive heating of rotors on a Tesla because the brakes are barely used. Even though modern ceramic pads are low dusting on my Tesla I notice an almost complete lack of any brake dust.

Tesla brake parts are not expensive and how many times do they have to be serviced? 1-2 times for the life of the car? Here's a nice higher end complete brake kit for $420.

He also mentioned they were Brembo, which are not cheap. Both Model Y LR and performance use Brembo

That kit is all 4 wheels, rotors pads and hardware. OEM parts are okay but are bare metal and rust the R1 kit doesn't at least not for awhile. Same kit for my ES300 is about $270 but keep in mind the rotors are smaller.
....looked up a couple of BMW's since they are in a similar performance class 4 wheel brake kit was the same as the Tesla.
There is nothing special or magical about Brembo rotors.

How much does Tesla charge per hour? Toyota dealer here is $240/hour, the one I buy parts from. I overhear people paying for service the prices are shall we say eye opening, or eye watering.

The Tesla service center in Santa Clara charges $75 an hour, that's what the service rep told me when I brought in the car last year for a rattle

I'm sure you know Tesla doesn't care a whole lot about making money on after sales stuff like parts and service. This part of the business is vital to legacy auto.

Y loaner we ended up with has seen some stuff. 40k miles, trim on the b pillar is separating a bit and the interior was a bit gross at pick up. Wiped everything down with quik interior cleaner and it felt better. Was tempted to run it through the car wash too, but didn't want to spend the money.
That said I was really impressed with the trunk space. We did a Costco run and had room to spare
