If they allowed lease buyouts and passed along the federal tax credit, this probably wouldn't be necessary.

i think they are passing along some or all of the fed credit which is why leases have come down.

as for not allowing buying out of the lease, that's odd they don't, but not a big deal to most who lease.

Elon Musk is the longest serving automotive CEO ever.

$0-$800 billion market cap in 15 years. Tesla is the most American auto maker by far all models are at the top of the list. Despite all of this, Tesla and Elon are frequently the target of haters calling him a fraud, a liar, calling for him to be arrested. Regulators are trying to find any reason to charge him with something, anything. SpaceX is being sued for not hiring people they are prohibited by law from hiring. It never ends. On this very forum no company and certainly no CEO has been the target of more vitriol or at times downright hatred. People fear change, then eventually accept it and wonder how they ever lived without it.

Best of luck to Tesla in the next 15 years it is going to be a wild ride. Tesla Bot, FSD, Tesla energy, Dojo and who knows what else they will come up with. Elon recently predicted Tesla will have a 10 trillion dollar market cap, likely the most insane business prediction ever. Even if Tesla gets to half that I'm buying an island.

For a reference, BMW charges $500 for M Suspension to be turned on.
Ppf is really expensive. Even here in Eastern Europe, it is hard to get quality ppf done for less than $5k, going to 8k for reputable installer.

Does it make sense? Probably not, but those are the prices.

Wonder if he'll catch Henry Ford II. He made it 34 years.

Or his grandfather, who made it 39 years.

I'm aware quality PPFs are expensive. I was saying that that expense doesn't fit the population they want to sell it. Even if the price is justified, it's like have paint correction done at a dealership. But I'm sure some will bite.

The main benefits I see is the ability to roll the cost of the wrap into a loan and being able to pick it up and have it ready to go. I got my R1S wrapped in PPF and if I didn't have a 3rd car handy, we would've been down a car for a week. Quality wise...I have my doubts

They're not big fans of FSD, though.

I'm looking forward to testing one when they get here. I may be tempted to trade in my ICE pickup and not look back!

I don't regret getting FSD on my Tesla's because it was pre price hike, but in it's current state I wouldn't get it again.

FSD is freaking awesome. I can't believe it's available in our lifespan. But yes, its price is crazy. If one has X or S, it may make more sense. Totally off priced for 3/Y.
