It's an estimate so not sure how accurate but imo the Model X eas / is a failure for Tesla.
I would disagree with that. Although it doesn't sell in high numbers, it still sales pretty decently for a 90k plus SUV. I was just looking at Mercedes individual sales numbers (non EV), and they are not much better. It's still profitable. Should they keep it around... probably not, most people would just buy a model Y, or apparently a Rivian 😂. They need to seriously upgrade it or replace it, but a refresh is definitely needed

The other thing I wanted to mention is look at cars like Corvette, Mustang GT, Demon etc. They sell in small numbers, but they are profitable. Only reason cars like the Demon are being discontinued is because regulations are making them harder to continue to produce and sell, otherwise they would live forever.
A better example is probably the Toyota Highlander. They only sold 31,019 vehicles. But I'm assuming it's a very profitable vehicle for Toyota, so although most Toyota buyers are choosing a RAV4, Toyota has no plans to discontinue it.
Model X is still highly profitable to Tesla. Someone who is looking for a more refined drive, air suspension etc and has $90k to spare would buy it over a Model Y. I would actually have bought an X, but the model Y gives me everything I need... plus I'm cheap as hell 🤣🤣
