As much as I like our Polestar2 a lot, 100% I'm returning it in 10 months. Will most likely get another EV.

Rivian just rolled out a new update improving the different drive modes. It was always a little bouncy even in soft suspension, but it is fantastic now. Very floaty when you want it and well mannered (for a 7k pound SUV) when you want some handling

Awesome!

Was this an OTA update?

Yup, took about an hour and it was good to go. This is the second OTA dealing with ride quality and while the first one was a lot more significant (R1S had a bad habit of dolphin tailing over rough roads), this one is a lot more about refinement

That's what I love about EV's and OTA's. My Polestar made so many driving improvements through software updates over the last two years. Of course I've had two that broke stuff, but most made significant improvements

First R2 teaser is out for next month's intro event. I wonder how much smaller than the R1S it'll be. I'm waiting for someone on reddit to do the math

So R2 is out in 2026 I believe... same timing as when you'd likely get a CyberTruck if you put your name on the list now. 2026 is likely the year of temptation for my household.

Yeah, big question is whether they can build their factory and start producing by then.

I'm hoping by 2026 I'm done and we have the cars we need for at least the next 5 years. My plans are:

Replace Polestar ---> used Model 3P
Replace Sienna & Ioniq 5 ---> Sienna hybrid or EV9, maybe used Model X

Then I'm done
