It's also funny how people who are chugging along at 50 mph on the freeway (where the speed limit is 65), holding up traffic decide they want to go fast when you signal to change lanes. It's always a SMH moment. But thankfully, EV instant torque wins the day

Half a mile is plenty of room, especially if you have a high torque EV. And the reason I was half mile before the exit is people driving slow not letting me in when I was more than a mile away. I'm guessing you and the misses are one of those who don't like letting people in....

Look, my Model Y is FAST....but it's not that fast. There's no way on earth I could have accelerated around a line of cars from two lanes away and got off an exit 80 meters away and not crash into something or someone. Hopefully we cleared up this misunderstanding and we can all move on

I was in AZ last week with the fam and our Hertz rental was a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. Nice car, thought the interior was very well executed (my mom has a 20 or 21, this one is nicer inside than hers with some nice refreshes). Anyway, it was severely under powered. Driving some mountain roads on our way to the Grand Canyon I couldn't believe how sluggish it felt. After driving an EV with instant torque for 15 months, it really is crazy how you get used to certain driving dynamics. At times the Santa Fe felt borderline unsafe to me, but I assume it's because I was not fully adjusting my driving style to the lack of acceleration available.
Regardless of the brand, I think if more people test drove EV's and experienced the torque and overall driving dynamics they would want to convert sooner than later. There is really no replicating that feeling in anything else.
