That theory sounds a bit paranoid, if they were simply vandalizing it would be a lot simpler to damage the cables or the unit and not steal the cable to sell for the metal. It’s theft for profit.
Besides, anyone can clearly see that it’s the dog in back that’s pulling the strings here. She’s the mastermind.

well it's not a tesla supercharger so there's that dent in your theory. i thought it was ironic that the car is a prius which has a hybrid battery at least.
i've no doubt they're just stealing cables for some quick cash to feed their habits.

No it goes to pattern of behaviour, vandalizing because of EV hate Tesla's being keyed is another example of this just as is cutting charging cables. FYI people have also been cutting Tesla supercharger cables.

right and they're cutting cables to make money from selling the metal. no different than the rampant theft of catalytic converters and a/c coils which are not driven by some hatred against ice cars and building cooling.
Catalytic converters are worth vastly more than power cables the incentive is much higher. You're not very good at pattern recognition maybe this will help.
