Im in Orlando 9 days, some Disney, but mostly my daughter’s dance competition, and I packed for those 9 days in a carryon suitcase with workout clothes, swim suits, toiletries, two extra pairs of shoes, etc. No way my wife could pack like that.

quality time with family and/or friends is priceless. unless one is poor, the gas or other travel price is pretty irrelevant to me.

no idea how that's possible lol but maybe if you're doing laundry once or twice. being tall with feet to match, it would be the shoes that take up too much space in a carry on for me.

Tumi carryon luggage uses its space well plus I plan to do laundry once during the trip. I have three swim suits, three undershirts, five underwear, three nice button up shirts for dinner, four T-shirts, two pairs of shorts, workout shorts, two hats, one long sleeve shirt, flip flops and boat shoes plus my toiletry bag. No BS and I still have some room without expanding the suitcase.

I meant I would lean towards driving his EV rather than paying $7/gallon

It was definitely worth it, but thankfully I only needed to make one gas station stop the whole trip, and outside the national park. Also, gas up there was only $5.59, and surprisingly not $7 as I thought. I'll post some pics tomorrow

The Sienna did really well for an 11 year old minivan with 180K on it. Toyota built a great engine, the 3.5L V6 is still smooth, relatively quiet at high speeds, and has decent power on the mountain roads. My brother in law rented a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica (non hybrid), and the Sienna still has a better drivetrain. I felt the Pacifica has really clunky power delivery, and the transmission tuning was awful. Also the V6 was not as smooth, at least that was my impression. Anyway, pics from the trip

Great pics!

having had two non hybrid Pacificas the old 3.5 Toyota powertrain is absolutely smoother.

BTW, I was surprised that the whole trip I only saw two Model Y's. I saw two Ioniq 5's, a Kia EV6, a Kona, a Rivian RT1 and R1S. I guess not many people are adventurous enough to take EV's up there yet

A member on one of the Lightning forums has hit 100,000 miles on their truck, and upon pulling the OBDII data the battery is reporting a 98% State of Health.

The evidence is mounting that modern EV batteries are robust. I don't have anything like that on mine, but at 2 years old mine still reports 100% State of Health.

All that is exciting, until you realize that EV battery degradation isn't linear.

Meanwhile, MotorTrend already had an issue with the battery module malfunctioning on their 2022 Lightning. Numerous other examples on the web. Even the dealer that fixed the MotorTrend truck said they had already done a few of these.

Sure, you don't have to be a cheerleader, but you also shouldn't feed into the media blowing things way out of proportion or publications trying to get clicks

I don't believe that is what I was doing or what MotorTrend was doing. They were very kind in their response to a battery failure, which is one of the biggest concerns to potential EV buyers.
