I'm not sure how it is working. I've never synced my car with the opener head unit. I already had the MyQ app on my phone that I've used forever when I manually wanted to open or close with the app. I just used that users name and password and it worked. I did get a 30 day trial, but it still works after that expired.

I did have a positive supercharging experience yesterday. Went to nearby Florence SC, about 100 miles away, to pick up a small vintage end table that my wife wanted and to shop a few other stores in the area with her. Started with 297 miles of range. With the heat, after driving there and running around to a few different stores, we were at 145 miles left. Probably would have been fine, but we decided to hit their supercharger on the way out of town. Pick up about 100 miles of range charging for 15 minutes. Made it back home with 130 miles of range left. Saw a CyberTruck charging at the same place. Have seen a few on the road, but not close up. Still fugly, but I don't hate it as much as I thought I would.

Glad Bob it's all working out, hopefully you have many more positive times like this.

Just in case you don't know, one tip from a fellow Tesla owner to another. Always chose 250kW chargers if possible. Even if you have to drive a little further. You probably already know this, but 150kW are shared with the charger next to you. Coming back from my last trip, it routed me to 150 kW. Everything was fine, but they suddenly began to fill up and a guy plugged in next to me, cutting my rate in half 😠. A 12 minute charge turned into 25 minutes. 250 kW chargers don't share, so I try to avoid 150 if possible

Yeah, the 250s were at the Buc-ees 12 miles up the road in the opposite direction from home, so I hit the 150s and made sure I didn't get beside someone. Wasn't worth the extra 24 miles of driving. Fortunately, nobody came and used the one next to me, so 15 minutes was enough. Also, I put in the nav that I was going to the supercharger, even though I knew where it was, and the car started pre-conditioning the battery on the way there to help speed up charging.

Only issue was that the first time I plugged it in, it started charging for about 30 seconds and then said charging stopped. Waited, and it never started recharging. Got out, unplugged and plugged in again, and it worked fine. Not sure what happened, but glad it worked or it would have been a close call getting home.

I think what may have happened was it didn't get a "lock" on the connector. It happens with my son sometimes (he mostly drives the Y right now), he comes home is tired and doesn't check to make sure it got a lock on the connector. It will sometimes charge, and sometimes just give an error

For those considering an EV, sometimes you will have to spend a little extra time on a Supercharger. While it's part of the game, it's no biggie IMO. Go for a little walk...

so not always 100% perfect as often claimed.

and while 250kw non-shared better than 150kw shared, the EA 350kw chargers are amazing if there's no issues.

easy to say in sunny low humidity california. not a great option in florida, texas, or most of the u.s. in the summer (hot, humid, frequent hard rain showers).

I charged at an EVGo station yesterday just to make sure my account was setup properly and...it took about 5 minutes to get started . Credit card wouldn't authenticate on the charger so I had to unplug, add a card to the app, activate the station in the app, plug the car in, then wait 30ish seconds for it to start charging. Had an uh oh moment the first couple of minutes because the station rejected the card, but the Rivian was still trying to speak to the charger and wouldn't unlock the port. That's what I get for plugging in before the charger is fully authorized to go.
