I've been looking to the ID.Buzz as a possible grandadmobile. I'm still interested in it, but think that pricing is high relative to specs and value. Particularly as you're probably going to see ADM or other bogus markups on top

Completely agree. Plus, if they were going to wait a few years to launch in the US, they should've just waited for a mid cycle refresh.

I'm not sure your point here. Most buyers want a smaller, cheaper EV, which is why Mach-E sales are up 46 percent from last year. Sounds like a smart business move on Ford's part, don't build something that people won't buy and is not profitable. BTW regarding the Lightning, which I know you love so much, sales are up like 77 percent

I read an Edmunds article that was interesting, too.

Then you didn't watch the entire video. There were two roll races, where the Ioniq was indeed in NGS mode. Then there were two drag races from a dead stop, with NGS off. The M3 CS had a larger gap in the drag races than it did in the roll races. It had a far more violent launch (no traction problems at all) and only pulled more from then on.

Haha what you are missing my friend is the trade-in is trending downwards. In 2019, 71 percent of people traded to ICE. Now it's down to 51 percent. What's telling here is less people seem to be trading for Phev's and hybrids. This is positive news for EV's

I'm not dismissing the CS at all. That things an amazing car and deserves it's due credit. I did rewatch it and he mentions putting it in NGS mode, but I could still hear the fake engine noise and simulated like he was at high RPM, or was hearing the CS?

NGB, not NGS. I just cranked the volume on the drag races and it was dead quiet inside the Hyundai. Might have been a little sound from the CS very early in the race when they were next to each other and there was no wind noise.

I'm not dissing either car. Would be 120% happy to have either in my garage, and if I were still commuting, i5N by a mile. It's the first EV that makes me smile even just watching it on video. Well aside from Jack (Savagegeese) drifting the Lucid Air around the track.

I wasn't implying that you were. One of the minor annoyances about the Hyundai is they have NG-everything. N Grin Shift is the feature that makes it behave like it has a DCT, which makes it slower. I definitely heard this in the roll races. N Grin Boost, which I think he was using in all of them (but specifically called out in the drags) adds extra power for like 10 seconds, similar to an overboost feature on a turbo car.

Of course you weren't, I was joking . I would say the key to the BMW being able to lay all that power down is thanks to the ZF8, which is probably one of the best transmissions that exists. When I drove my friends M4 Comp, the only reason I felt it at all is because BMW wants you feel it

One more thing I wanted to mention that I forgot was, notice the EV trade it field, or the percentage of ICE cars traded in for EV's. In 2019 it was 10 percent. Last year it was 29 percent, and this year it's jumped to 32%. That's a freaking 22 percent jump in 5 years! My conclusion is ICE seems to be the one losing market

I don’t think that’s what the chart says? Unless I’m misreading it, that’s for Teslas traded for another EV, not ICE traded for EV

I just re-read, the chart itself gave me the impression "all EV's" but reading it says 51 percent were traded for ICE, 32 percent for another EV, so you are reading correctly
