I see. When I was in PA that wasn't the case, not for passenger vehicles. In Alberta all passenger cars have the same fee. I personally think we should get rid of all registration fees the administration costs alone probably eat up most of the cash coming in.

I shouldn't have posted the Sienna because of its age (and not being an EV), CA DMV fees are based on the value of the car which gets less as they age. So the Model Y, Polestar and Ioniq 5 would have higher DMV fees as they are newer, but there is a $175 as well as a $3 clean vehicle fee added to them, which is OK with me because I'm not paying gasoline tax, which is used for maintaining roads. Or so they say

So this is the DMV fees if these were ICE vehicles
Hyundai Ioniq 5:$731 $553
Tesla Model Y:$750 $572
Polestar:$706 $528

Those registration fees are obscene IMO. Ontario now has $0 registration fee for passenger cars.

He's right. I worked with a colleague who moved from Toronto and she told me that her income was taxed 60 percent. She loved everything about moving here except she told me our healthcare system sucks

$80,000 USD = $108,132 CAD, but it used $80k for both.
