There is a massive difference in ride quality and overall how solid a car feels. I was out of town over the weekend and my rental car was a 2024 Audi A6. When I owned an LS, I thought an Audi A6 rode like garbage. Now I own a MYP and I like the way the A6 rides..! I think the new 3 would be a huge improvement in what you're seeking.

I'm kinda in the same boat honestly - I think the MYP has been the nice way to convince myself that I love EV ownership. Now I want to look at a model S and see what the ride quality is like. I'd also look at others like a BWM i5 or BMW i7. But one thing that was abundantly clear over the weekend is the Audi user interface is by far the worst interface I've ever used. I don't take for granted how well executed Tesla's interface is. I just wish the ride quality was better and the car was a bit more substantial.
You should do a test drive of the Model S. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the air suspension. But it's not going to be a luxury ride if that's what you are looking for, the new Model 3 Performance has a softer ride

Yes, I think I should test drive both the new 3 and the S to compare them (with the assumption being the new Y will be very similar to the 3's improvements). I don't know that I'd want to buy a brand new S, so my concern would just be the warranty associated with the air suspension on a used one. I intentionally bought our QX 80 without air suspension after the suspension on our LX failed and was going to be almost $9k to replace. So I don't have any interest in having a car outside of warranty with air suspension..

100 percent. Air suspension is going to be expensive to repair/replace, the average cost being around $1600. Air suspension life expectancy is between 80k and 100k.

If the new revamped Model Y is anywhere as good as the new Model 3, the Y Performance will probably be my next car next year. Model Y test vehicles have already been spotted several times.

You should 100 percent test drive the new Model 3 Performance...it totally blew me away..way more than my friends M4 Comp did

Model S doesn't ride anything like an LS/S Class/i7. If you want that feel in an EV you need an EQS or an i7.

might want to try a lucid air as well. although not air suspension, reviews have been excellent on quiet and ride quality.

If you think it looks great, wait until you drive one. It makes a lot of $100k plus sports car irrelevant, IMHO. It's basically a $55k super car

The Ioniq 5 refresh has NACS so it's definitely coming for Hyundai as well.

I like that Quicksilver color. I'm glad you were impressed with it. I'm going to see if I can drive an S and a 3 this weekend. I have 2 Tesla locations within 10 miles of me - and 1 of them has a CyberTruck that you can test drive. I may go drive that just so my son can have a grin on his face all weekend.

As of last week, I officially have a $0 loan balance on my MYP, so may as well start kicking tires..!

You have to at least do a test drive, Tesla makes it so easy. My co-worker suddenly got the urge to check out the M3P, we went on Tesla's website, filled out a form, and 10 minutes later we were at the Tesla Fremont showroom. Tesla employee walked us to the car, explained to my co-worker the basic features, said we have 30 minutes and we were off on a roller coaster ride...literally! 30 minutes later we parked the car and headed back to the office. No sales pressure, didn't have to deal with a person at all unless we had questions. Think you can just test a drive a car at dealership and walk off without pressure and a sales pitch? Last test drive I did was an i7, sales guy wanted to run my credit before I even did the drive, which I declined with a lot of "it's procedure". Then afterwards I told him I had a meeting, but he still insisted I let him run the numbers.

Did they leave the 3P in chill mode or did you have full power?
