Yep, not ideal for that use for sure.

Normally when I get there my cousin drives because he has an SUV and most places we go we need the SUV, but still.

I don't know the answer to that question, but I would guess there are more gas stations, but more individual chargers, the average Tesla site here having between 14 chargers to 90 chargers.

The answer to your second question, it's not about saving money in my case. It's about a better driving experience. The gas car that drives the closest to my $50k Polestar for example is my friends $100k BMW M5. His gas and maintenance costs are 5x mine

The EV gives a great driving experience too which is worth something.
If you haven’t, you should rent an EV to see how it fits you day to day. You can only learn so much reading about other’s experiences.

At least that’s what I did. I rented a Tesla 2x before I bought my PHEV.

But you don’t take your polestar on road trips, correct.

I don’t know much about Polestar. Never heard of it until reading about yours but there has to be a cheaper gas car that compares. If not, wow!!

Oh I've taken it (the Polestar) on lots of trips to SoCal. Check out my Polestar thread. I bought the Tesla because it's better on trips due to their massive charging infrastructure. But I would still take the Polestar without hesitation.

Nope. The Polestar has nearly 500 HP, 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds on any road, and is a thrill to drive. No stock unmodified gas car $50k or under can match it. In fact you have to go above $80k to even get close

Gas is $5/gallon here. Road tripping in the Tesla will work out to about half vs. my Highlander. Again I don't care much about transport cost it is a very small part of my overall budget.

Yes, those C8 Corvettes are great family cars aren't they. Tons of room for 5 people and so much cargo space.

But the Polestar is not a sports car, it's a family/daily commuter. It's cheaper to own and fuel than a C8. And he would only smoke me after 80...off the line he's mine... don't ask me how I know that .

You just proved my point. It takes a more expensive "sports car" just to beat me 🤣

Wow over $5 still? I just filled up today for $2.34 a gallon for 87.

I didn’t care anyway but now I REALLLLLLLY don’t care how bad the LX’s gas mileage is. Fuel is cheap again.

$2.89 for the Ody this week.

Gas prices aside, I've been pretty easy on the accelerator on the R1S because my efficiency dropped from ~2.4 to 2.15 with the cold and it annoys me. That said, today a 3LR lined up with me at a light and proceeded to gun it to the speed limit (55). Well I couldn't let that pass so the next time we lined up at a light, I dropped it into sport mode and said bye
