Tell him to be careful with that in ground propane tank. That caused this in the DC area last month:

Interesting point.

When I had the Taycan for the test drive, I asked the sales guy why the Taycan doesn't have 1 pedal drive mode and his response was that Porsche does that very deliberately as it's not as efficient in terms of regen. He couldn't explain why, but said that's what the engineers mentioned.

I heard Alex on Autos once mention while reviewing an EV that OPD should be turned off when driving on long highway trips for all EV's except Tesla's. I believe he was testing the Polestar 2 SM

Alex also said he can't stand the regen system in Tesla's as it makes him feel like puking.... clearly he had no clue how to modulate the throttle so that the car would slow down more gradually.....🤔

I don't think he's driven a Tesla lately, although I could be wrong. Tesla has refined one pedal through updates to a point where it's very smooth. I can feel the difference between the Polestar, and Ioniq 5 and it's way smoother. My daughter who gets easily car sick barely feels it in the Y.

My son turns it to creep mode in the P2 and my wife keeps it on level 3 on the Ioniq, but they leave it on when taking the Y

No, i specifically meant that he was referring to brake release Regen when he said it's not smooth and makes him feel like puking.

I've had a Tesla for almost 5 years now and it's always been incredibly smooth. I don't have the 1 pedal mode in my car but that's only when you're almost stopped.

Alex just doesn't know or interested in learning how to use it properly. That's all there is to it really.

I love it. I've fully switched to OPD. Also helps me with red light races getting off the line quicker 😁

1 pedal drive is one of the best features of the EV experience

I didn't either early on, but after about a week of driving the Y, I started to kind of like it. I just wish there was a way, besides installing an aftermarket button add-on, of turning it off when it snows.

If you don’t like one pedal driving don’t get a refreshed Model S, there is no other mode and no creep mode, one pedal driving is always on. I personally love it and don’t know how anyone doesn’t like it but everyone is different.

It’s just not at all what I’m used to and I find that when moving through traffic it catches me off guard. I’m used to giving a car a little boost of throttle and moving through traffic and I’m always surprised by the car dragging like I hit the brakes as soon as I take my foot off the throttle.

You adapt pretty quickly, and modulating becomes second nature. But as Pat stated, refresh Model S and X don't have creep mode. I believe the i5 and i7 both you can turn on creep mode

The only time I don’t like it is when I want to adjust my foot on the accelerator and there are people behind me. For that brief second I let off the people behind me probably think I don’t know how to drive because I’m braking for no reason but those occasions are pretty rare.
