my commute is 15mi. and i typically only do it 3 or 4 times a week. (rest wfh). i have a flexible boss you see... me ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
guessing a tankful of gas used to last me 2-3 weeks before, and was $40-60. so est. $80 a month maybe.
my electricity here has no peak / off-peak rates. looking at a recent bill, it appears to be 14c / kwh.![Dance 2](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/dance2.gif)

so the electrician called and i happened to be home so he came by to scope out the charger install to get his quote to me.
no idea when it might get done because obviously i have to have the charger first, plus his scheduling.
but it's forward progress...![Dance 2](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/dance2.gif)

there's talk about San Jose ditching PG&E and setting up their own power company. The proposal passed a couple of weeks ago to get the exploratory work underway. Talk is up to 25% reductions, but a while away. And even at 25% savings, we're still paying way more than most. But anything to get away from PG&E welcome. Absolutely appalling business.

much in the same way as the state quickly realized that ev's pay no gas tax and so must be charged more for registration to fund road maintenance.

there's quite the irony in your statement. home solar has CAUSED power company revenue to fall and thus they have to raise rates to fund grid maintenance, etc.
