The greenest and most efficient car in the USA is NOT an EV

Here’s the same “loud, buzzy, screaming” R4P in hybrid mode aka 4 cylinder mode on same highway at same 75mph. I actually pressed the gas to make sure I could hear the engine. All I was hearing was wind noise same as in EV mode.
Let me know, I can do the same test in my “loud” 3rd gen Prius as I have more errands to run later this evening. Upon request I will drive one of the V8s

LOL...you actually went and tested. I like how people keep moving the goalposts...you show that noise is not high in the plugins and hybrids (with actual measurable data), and suddenly it's about something else.
We know BEV people here might not go back to hybrids (HEV/PHEV) or def ICE. That's fine, you do you. But no need to try to push down other people's cars with anecdotal data about how bad they are, when we've actually been driving the things forever and know what their negatives and positives are - just as I hope you know what the positives and negatives are for your vehicles

You not understanding what we are saying is not moving the goalposts lol
70 db is not a quiet car, BTW...
Again, I owned the car for 7 years. You can keep pretending that I don't know what I'm talking about but I do. Not anecdotal.

You aren't listening. The road noise at speed comes from the vehicle overall and not the engine. At highway speed the engine is a very small part of the overall noise profile. The Prius is loud at highway speed because its an economy car with very little sound deadening, not because it has a 4 cyl. Rav 4 is not a quiet car either, quieter than the Prius though.

Maybe I’m deaf I do have a sub in every vehicle including the Prius.
So I take it the Prius sound test is not needed?

Dude, I don't understand your obsession with trying to prove how quiet, how efficient, how your Prius can go 75 mph...I don't get it. What are you trying to prove in an EV sub-forum? Do you think we think you are less of person because you own a Prius?

You could absolutely have hearing loss. The Prius, like other economy cars, is much louder on the highway than more expensive cars built to a higher standard. Your Rav isn't a quiet car either...it too Is an economy car. You need to compare it to higher end cars and these EVs we are talking about qualify as such. Thats the point we are making, we don't want to drive Priuses even if they are "greener" because they're just not very satisfying cars to drive, these EVs are much more desirable for many reasons, refinement and noise isolation are a couple of those reasons.
