Yes I do. But electric cars we are told are simpler, friendlier and use less parts than ICE cars, therefore in my mind, less expensive. That will need to be part of the draw to get me to an electric vehicle.

Battery packs are the most expensive part of an EV, which is why they are covered under 8 to 10 year/120,000 mile warranties. Drivetrains are also covered under this same warranty. In 2 years and 4 months and 32,000 miles, my Polestar has costed me $0 in maint, unless you count windshield wiper fluid. In electricity, it's costed me on average $35 a month. Keep in mind, it has 476 HP, does 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds. My 2023 Model Y now has almost $15k on it, costs about $30 a month in electricity and the only maint I've had to do is rotate the tires twice at $30 each rotation

Polestar is a separate company from Volvo. It's sold here:

Something being a certain way "in your mind" doesn't have any bearing on reality. EVs are more expensive than comparable ICE cars, its because its much newer technology that is still early in its stages of being monetized where the manufacturer begins to make a profit on the R&D investment.

I don't need an EV. I don't need to pay for what is of no value to me. As it is when a person buys an ICE vehicle, especially a truck or SUV, they are paying for the development of the EV's. That is the reality.
I looked at that Polestar car. Kind of like a cheap Renault 5 look to the interior. I will look at one when I see one around here. Interesting.

My mind is reality. It is not artificial.

so far 32,000 miles no rattles or squeaks, and it's very quiet at any speed

Its reality to you, but not to the rest of the world. I can think something should cost no more than a certain amount, but that doesn't have any impact on what it actually costs.
Polestar looks cheap inside because its cheap.

Yep, that's why I bought. Needed a cheap EV for my commute that wasn't Chevy Bolt or Leaf cheap, was fun, and I can return it in 3 years waiting for better EV'S to emerge. At the time Model 3 base was nearly $60k

People who haven't bought a car in a long time are totally unprepared for what cars cost today. Cars are expensive. I'm so exasperated trying to make a deal work to replace my car I'm about to bag it and just keep it, I've never had a harder time working out a deal.
In terms of EV vs ICE cost, I'm looking at 760s and i7s as you know, the i7 is slightly more expensive than the 760 (about $4k more), BUT the way the lease deals work out its actually about $350 a month cheaper to lease. When you factor in the $300-350 a month I spend on gas, yeah an EV would be ~$550 a month cheaper for the identical car.
