What @patgilm sez, warn your passengers. Seriously. You can run around in Std mode and it is a great driver in so many ways. Switch to Insane and it's all over. Don't hurt yourself...

Been on short rides so far, nothing special. Yesterday drove to Pleasant Hill (60 miles north) in the East Bay.
What a great road car! It was 107* and I didn't notice a thing.

When the Model Y gets the Highland treatment, watch out world. This is a great package. A wonderful driver's car.

When I headed for the Tesla showroom, I really had no idea what this car would be like. It's been reviewed many times, including by one of our members Jeff who now owns one, so I won't reinvent the wheel. I'll just say a few things that really grabbed my attention. In Normal Mode, it's fast. In Insane Mode, IT's REALLY FAST! Like it scares you fast. I've driven a lot of cars in my 56 years, and this is among one of the fastest off the line. There are two cars I've driven that actually shocked me, and that's a friends 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo (when the Turbo kicked in) and a 2017 Lambo Huracan I drove in Dubai. A couple of weeks ago I reviewed my friends 2024 M4 Comp RWD, and the Model 3 P IMO is a better driving car, and impressed me way more. That's not to say I don't think his M4 is amazing, it is, it has better seats, fancier screens, more options, but I like the Model 3 Performance way more. It's not even up for debate which one I would pick.

The motors on this car, I don't how you make electric motors quieter and smoother, but this was the smoothest car I've ever driven. Pounding on it, or going soft. It changes personalities seamlessly. It's sporty, refined, a great daily driver and trip car, and switches instantly to a supercar.

To me the best improvement was the suspension. Simply amazing. I drove it 30 minutes through the worst roads Fremont had to offer. Over bumps, humps and cracks. The suspension is amazing. Both in Standard, and Sport settings. I hit some extremely curvy roads, and in both modes handled like a champ. It doesn't have analogue feedback, but you know what the car is doing in the turns. And the car will help you out if you get in trouble.

The weak point is the tires. These tires will need replacing in about 20k miles. I would probably replace them (when the time comes) with AS instead of summer tires. I don't ever plan to track it, so not a big concern.

I really should have never test drove it, because now I know 100 percent I'm buying it. It makes the Polestar feel sluggish in comparison. And when enthusiasts start getting their hands on them, game over. And when they come out with a refresh Model Y Performance, game over. Anyone who drives this car and says it sucks is a liar in my book

It's real simple; for 55 large, there is nothing else even close. I am waiting for C&D, etc to publish their thoughts.
I knew Aimrza786 would be in, hook line and sinker.

I made a video of a launch, but it doesn't really do it justice, plus the force produced by the launch causes me to involuntarily shout out an expletive and pull back a bit, making it a little embarrassing to publicly post . If anyone is interested in seeing it, I'll send a link

Doesn't sound like they're a weak point. Sounds like they enable the car's performance. I don't understand buying a performance car and then kneecapping said performance by using all-seasons, especially in an environment where the weather is perpetually good. Every attribute you just got done gushing about will be lessened.

I do have a set of PSAS4, but they're my winters, so I can make the drive not completely suck during the part of the year when riding on summers would be fatal. But in warmer weather there's no comparison between those and the PS4S that the car came with.

You gotta pay to play.
